The present invention relates to a method for inserting at least one graphical object corresponding to one fixture at at least one position in a digital map, comprising the steps of: storing data relating to at least one fixture class in a lookup table, determining at least one position in the digital map, reading the data related to the at least one fix- ture class, generating at least one graphical object representing the at least one fixture based on the data related to the at least one fixture class, assigning the graphical ob- ject to the determined position and displaying the assigned graphical object at the pre- determined position.
