A cap for blocking a pipe. The pipe has a rim at an end thereof. The rim defines a pipe aperture. The cap includes a body for blocking the pipe aperture, the body including a bore having a threaded bore portion. A latch is movably mounted on the body for movement between a latched position wherein the latch engages the rim, and an unlatched position wherein the latch disengages the rim. A plug is provided for threaded engagement with the threaded portion and converts a rotational movement of the plug relative to the bore into a translation movement of the plug relative to the bore between a plug first position and a plug second position. The plug is operatively coupled to the latch for moving the latch between the latched and the unlatched positions in response to the plug being moved between the first plug position and a second plug position

Un obturateur de tuyau. Le tuyau comporte un rebord à une extrémité. Le rebord définit une ouverture du tuyau. L'obturateur comporte un corps pour fermer l'ouverture du tuyau, le corps comprenant un alésage ayant une partie filetée. Un loquet mobile est monté sur le corps et peut être placé en position bloquée auquel cas le loquet s'enclenche sur le rebord du tuyau, et en position débloquée auquel cas le loquet n'est plus enclenché sur le rebord du tuyau. Un bouchon fileté peut se visser dans la portion filetée et convertit un mouvement de rotation du bouchon par rapport à l'alésage en un mouvement de translation du bouchon par rapport à l'alésage, entre une première position du bouchon et une deuxième position du bouchon. Le bouchon est couplé pour fonctionner avec le loquet et permet au loquet de passer de sa position bloquée à sa position débloquée lorsque le bouchon est déplacé de sa première position à sa deuxième position.
