An image reading system observes a field of view and forms electrical signals indicating the presence of objects within the field as to location and movement. After ascertaining the area of the field in which an object (16) is located, the system is speeded up by reading signals outside the area at a high rate of speed and those inside the area at a normal rate of speed.

Un système de lecture d'images observe un champ visuel et produit des signaux électriques indiquant la présence d'objets à l'intérieur du champ, notamment l'emplacement de choses et des mouvements observés. Après vérification de la zone du champ dans lequel se trouve un objet (16) le système accélère sa vitesse en faisant la lecture à grande vitesse des signaux provenant de l'extérieur de la zone; les signaux provenant de l'intérieur de la zone sont lus à vitesse normale.
