II with a disodium 4-(tetrazol-5-yl) butyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide, acylating the resulting compound with an acylating agent equivalent to R2COOH, reducing the protecting benzyl ether group to a hydroxy group and oxidizing to form the CHO group.
