A method of determining the presence of preeclampsia is provided wherein a determination is made as to whether there has been a substantial elevation in marinobufagenin which may be a blood-derived or urine-derived and if such elevation does exist concluding that preeclampsia does exist in a patient. The method may advantageously be practiced by employing urine, blood serum or blood plasma as the body specimen containing the protein in determining whether a patient has preeclampsia. The method may include subsequent therapeutic patient treatment. Related diagnostic apparatus is also provided.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour déterminer la présence d'une prééclampsie. Dans ce procédé, on détermine une augmentation sensible de marinobufagenine, qui peut être dérivée du sang ou de l'urine, et si une telle augmentation a eu lieu, on conclut sur l'existence d'une prééclampsie chez le patient. Le procédé peut s'utiliser avantageusement avec l'urine, le sérum sanguin ou le plasma sanguin pris en tant que spécimens de corps contenant la protéine et permettant de déterminer si le patient souffre d'une prééclampsie. Le procédé peut ensuite comprendre un traitement thérapeutique du patient. L'invention concerne aussi un appareil diagnostique correspondant.
