Iodophor compositions for preventing mastitis which would freeze in winter and exert bactericidal effect comparable to the conventional preparations even at elevated dilution rates. These compositions comprise iodine, iodides, organic acids, nonionic surfactants having HLB of 6 to 15 and water. When diluted 10- fold, such a composition shows a viscosity (V1) of 20 to 3000 mm2/s and a ratio of the viscosity of the composition per se (V2) to the viscosity of the diluted composition (V1), i.e., (V2)/(V1) of 0.05 to 20.

La présente invention concerne des compositions de iodophore destinées à prévenir la mastite, qui gèlent en hiver et exercent un effet bactéricide comparable à celui des préparations classiques même à des taux de dilution élevés. Ces compositions comprennent de l'iode, des iodures, des acides organiques, des tensio-actifs non ioniques d'un rapport hydro-liphophile de 6 à 15, et de l'eau.
