A protective shield for attachment to an electrical control on an electric water heater having a heating element extending into the water heater tank below the control. The shield has an upper section attached to the control and a depending lower section that shields the electrical connections to the heating element. The lower section is hinged to the upper section for upward swinging movement to a raised position providing access to the heating element. Latches on the opposite sides of the shield releasably hold the lower section in its raised position. Attachment of the shield to the control is effected by upwardly opening shield sockets that receive downwardly extending projections on the control and by a shield top end loop received over a lug on the control.
Cette invention concerne une plaque de protection à fixer au boîtier de commande électrique d'un élément chauffant de chauffe-eau disposé sous le boîtier de commande. La plaque comporte une partie supérieure fixée au boîtier et une partie inférieure articulée à la partie supérieure et servant à masquer les connexions électriques de l'élément chauffant. Pour donner accès aux connexions, on fait pivoter la partie inférieure vers le haut. Des taquets disposés des deux côtés latéraux opposés de la partie supérieure permettent de bloquer la partie inférieure en position relevée. La fixation de la plaque de protection sur le boîtier de commande s'opére en enfilant les douilles ménagées dans la plaque sur des ergots du boîtier faisant saillie vers le bas et en faisant passer une partie évidée en forme d'anneau solidaire du haut de la plaque sur un téton prévu sur le boîtier.
