A package for maintaining a needle-suture product in a sterile condition includes a peelable foil container in which a peripheral heat seal defines a cavity for retaining a suture packet. The packet has a plastic tray and a stiff paper lid secured to the tray by hinged paper cleats extending into sockets in the tray. The lid covers most of the area of the tray, leaving an uncovered portion for accessing a needle mounted in the tray. A suture attached to the needle is coiled in a peripheral track in the tray so that an extended length of suture material can be retained in a relatively small space. The container has top and bottom aluminum foils with differentiated polymeric coatings on their interior surfaces, which are thermally fused to form the seal. Unsealed foil flaps are provided at one end of the container to enable peeling apart the foils to open the package.
Emballage servant à conserver aiguille et fil de suture dans des conditions stériles comprenant un contenant à opercule pelable dans lequel un thermoscellage périphérique délimite une cavité destinée à retenir un ensemble à suture. Le paquet comporte un plateau en plastique et un couvercle en papier rigide fixé au plateau par des attaches en papier avec charnière qui s'étendent jusqu'à des emboîtements dans le plateau. Le couvercle recouvre la plus grande partie de la surface, ce qui laisse une partie découverte pour avoir accès à l'aiguille placée dans le plateau. Un fil de suture rattaché à l'aiguille est enroulé dans un espace situé à la périphérie du plateau de sorte qu'une bonne longueur de matière de suture peut être conservée dans un espace relativement petit. Le contenant comporte des opercules inférieur et supérieur en aluminium ayant des revêtements polymères différents sur leurs surfaces intérieures, qui sont thermocollés pour former le joint étanche. Les côtés non scellés de l'opercule se trouvent à l'une des extrémités du contenant pour permettre le pelage des opercules en vue d'ouvrir le paquet.
