ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to heterocyclic compounds. More particularly, the invention is concerned with a process for the production of morpholine and piperidine derivatives and the products of such process. The morpholine and piperidine derivatives are useful as active ingredients of agricultural, horticultural and pharmaceutical compositions. The compounds have the formula Image (I) , wherein R1 and R3 each represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R4, R5 and R6 each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and two of the symbols R4, R5 and R6 can each be bonded to the same carbon atom or can together form a fused alicyclic or aromatic 6-membered ring; X represents a methylene group or an oxygen atom; z stands for zero or 1 and the dotted bonds can be hydrogenated, and physiologically-acceptable acid addition salts of those compounds which are basic.
