A side cutter comprises a substantially disk-shaped or substantially ring-shaped cutter body (10), two or more peripheral cutting inserts (20) each having a cutting edge (21) protruding from a peripheral surface of the cutter body (10) , and two or more corner cutting inserts (30) each having a cutting edge (31) protruding from an end surface of the cutter body (10) , wherein the peripheral cutting insert (20) and the corner cutting insert (30) are arranged in the cutter body (10) such that the cutting edges (21, 31) adjacent to each other have rotational trajectories around a center axis line of the cutter body (10) to overlap, and at least a set of the peripheral cutting insert (20) and the corner cutting insert (30) rotational trajectories of which have a relationship to be spaced from each other are spaced from each other in a center axis line direction of the cutter body (10) and are arranged substantially in the same position in the circumferential direction of the cutter body (10).
