A computer-assisted method of processing a claim. The method includes processing the claim through a plurality of automated processing stages in a claim processing system until one of either a claim stage processing failure or a successful claim processing completion. The method also includes exiting the claim processing system when the claim processing completes successfully, manually resolving a problem with the claim when a claim processing failure occurs, and re-entering the claim processing system at a subsequent stage after manually resolving a problem with the claim.
