Apparatus (30) and a method for finishing a blow molding (24) is disclosed as in including a rotary head (42) on which a knife holder (44) is provided for mounting a first knife (46) for radial movement with respect to the rotational axis (A). A second knife holder (44) is mounted in a diametrically opposite relationship to the first knife holder and actuated so as to maintain a balanced realtionship during rotation of the rotary head. An actuating mechanism (48) actuates the knife holders (44) to move the knife (46) held by the first knife holder (44) radially inward with respect to the rotational axis (A) during rotation of the head (42) to cut the blow molding received thereby and thereby provide finishing that removes excess material.

Cette invention concerne un appareil (30) et une méthode de finition d'un article moulé par soufflage (24). L'appareil comporte une tête rotative (42) équipée d'un porte-couteau (44) destiné à recevoir un premier couteau (46) réglable radialement par rapport à l'axe de rotation (A) de la tête rotative. Un deuxième porte-couteau (44) est monté du côté diamétralement opposé au premier et se règle de manière à éviter tout balourd à la rotation de la tête rotative. Un mécanisme de réglage (48) permet de déplacer les porte-couteau (44) de manière à rapprocher les couteaux (46) de l'axe de rotation (A) de la tête rotative pour découper l'article (24) et enlever toute bavure.
