Abstract of Invention Method of producing a polymer molding free of pores containing a thick section comprising mixing monomer charge containing at least one norbornene monomer having tricyclic or higher cyclic structure, a ring-opening catalyst system and a halogen source; introducing the monomer charge into a mold wherein temperature of the monomer charge is higher then temperature of the inside of the mold; polymerizing the monomer charge to a polymer molding while pressurizing the molding above the injection pressure; cooling the molding so that the temperature difference is less than 80°C between the maximum curing exothermal temperature and the glass transition temperature of the molding; and removing a pore free, rigid polymer molding from the mold wherein monomer conversion to polymer in the molding is in excess of 98%. 0029PApp.GAK
