A heat-resistant, paintable acrylic-based pressure sensitive adhesive tape and method for adhering the tape to a substrate are provided. The tape is comprised of a solid acrylic-based carrier including an acrylic-based adhesive on both sides of the carrier, and a heat-resistant liner adhered to at least one side of the adhesive. Preferably, the liner is conformable to the substrate to which the tape is attached. In use, the tape is adhered on at least one side to a substrate, painted, and then exposed to elevated temperatures such as those encountered in an automotive, appliance, or other commercial paint bake process. The tape can withstand temperatures up to 150 ~C and can be painted without degradation of the adhesive or liner and without a reduction of the adhesive properties of the tape.
L'invention concerne une bande adhésive sensible à la pression à base acrylique, pouvant être peinte et thermorésistante, ainsi qu'un procédé permettant de la coller à un substrat. La bande consiste en un support acrylique solide comprenant, sur les deux côtés du support, un adhésif acrylique, et un revêtement thermorésistant collé sur au moins un côté de l'adhésif. De préférence, le revêtement s'adapte au substrat auquel la bande est fixée. En emploi, la bande, peinte, est collée sur au moins un côté du substrat puis exposée à des températures élevées, par exemple celles courantes dans un procédé de cuisson de peinture d'automobiles, d'appareils ou d'autres procédés commerciaux de cuisson de peinture. La bande peut supporter des températures allant jusqu'à 150 ·C et peut être peinte sans dégradation de l'adhésif ou du revêtement et sans diminution des propriétés adhésives de la bande.
