A method for treating polycystic kidney disease in an individual in need thereof. This method includes identifying a mammal having a cystic disease and administering to the mammal a pharmacologically effective anticystic amount of TNF-alpha or an agent which stimulates TNF-alpha production in vivo. The agent is administered in a pharmacologically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent.
L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement d'une maladie polykystique du rein chez un patient. Cette méthode consiste à identifier un mammifère atteint d'une maladie kystique et à lui administrer une quantité pharmaceutiquement efficace de TNF-alpha ou d'un agent stimulant la production in vivo de TNF-alpha, telle qu'elle agit contre ladite maladie kystique. Ledit agent est administré dans un porteur, un excipient ou un diluant pharmaceutiquement acceptables.
