A telephony adapter device is connected to a public telephone network, a conventional telephone, and a computer, which allows the conventional telephone to be used for both traditional telephony and computer network telephony. The adapter includes a first connector for connecting adapter to the telephone, a second connector for connecting adapter to the public telephone network, and a third connector for connecting adapter to the computer. The adapter also includes signal processing circuitry electrically connected to the third connector, a switch electrically connected by separate switch contacts to the first and second connectors, and the signal processing circuitry, and a microcontroller connected between the signal processing circuitry and the third connector. The switch electrically connects the first connector to the second connector in a first position, and electrically connects the first connector to the signal processing circuitry in a second position. Operation of the adapter, including the positioning of the switch, is controlled by the microcontroller.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif adaptateur pour téléphonie qui vient se connecter à un réseau téléphonique public, à un téléphone conventionnel ainsi qu'à un ordinateur, et qui permet d'utiliser ledit téléphone conventionnel tant pour la téléphonie traditionnelle que pour la téléphonie par réseau informatique. Cet adaptateur comprend un premier connecteur permettant de le connecter au téléphone, un deuxième connecteur permettant de le connecter au réseau téléphonique public, et un troisième connecteur permettant de le connecter à l'ordinateur. L'adaptateur comprend également un circuit de traitement de signaux connecté par voie électrique au troisième connecteur, un commutateur connecté par voie électrique et par des contacts de commutation distincts au premier et au deuxième connecteurs ainsi qu'au circuit de traitement de signaux, et une micro-unité de commande connectée entre le circuit de traitement de signaux et le troisième connecteur. Le commutateur va connecter électriquement le premier connecteur au deuxième lorsqu'il se trouve dans une première position, et va connecter électriquement le premier connecteur au circuit de traitement de signaux lorsqu'il se trouve dans une seconde position. Le fonctionnement de l'adaptateur, y compris le positionnement du commutateur, est géré par la micro-unité de commande.
