The present invention is a device having a rigidly linked jaw (50) that is decoupled from an articulating wrist. The device provides for articulating motion as well as actuation that may be used in grasping, cutting, suturing or the like as follows: An elongated housing (12) having a proximal end (14), and a distal end (16); an articulation rod extending interior the housing, the articulation rod (20) having a proximal end (22), and a distal end (24); an actuation rod extending interior the housing, the actuation rod having a proximal end, and a distal end; a rack driver (170) in communication with the actuation rod at the distal end thereof, the rack driver engaged with a cylindrical rack for translating the motion of the actuation rod substantially about 90 degrees; and a jaw in communication with the cylindrical rack, whereby movement of the cylindrical rack actuates the jaw, the jaw further in pivotal communication with the articulation rod such that linear movement of the articulation rod produces rotational movement of the jaw.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif comprenant une pince rigide (50) découplée par rapport à un poignet articulé. Ce dispositif exécute des mouvements d'articulation et d'activation permettant de réaliser des manipulations de prise, de découpe, de suture ou d'autres manipulations semblables. Ledit dispositif comprend un logement allongé (12) possédant une extrémité proximale (14) et une extrémité distale (16); une tige d'articulation (20) s'étendant à l'intérieur du logement et possédant une extrémité proximale (22) et une extrémité distale (24); une tige d'activation s'étendant à l'intérieur du logement et possédant une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale; un organe d'entraînement (170) de support, en communication avec la tige d'activation au niveau de son extrémité distale, et en contact avec un support cylindrique pour opérer le mouvement de translation de la tige d'activation d'environ sensiblement 90 degrés; et une pince, en communication avec le support cylindrique qui, en se déplaçant, active la pince, celle-ci étant également en communication rotative avec la tige d'articulation afin que le mouvement linéaire de la tige d'articulation génère le mouvement rotatif de la pince.
