ABSTRACT Polymers consisting of a macromolecular polysaccharide matrix esterified wholly or partly by means of activated poly- unsaturated acids chosen from the group consisting of 8, 11, 14-eicosa trienoic acid, 5, 8, 11, 14-eicosatetraenoic acid and 5, 8, 11, 14, 17-eicosapentenoic acid. The new polymers are therapeutic compounds to be used in the same fields of application as prostaglandins but without any of the negative effects of said compounds.
