ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed an animal feeding device having a bin for storage of feed and a trough for receiving feed from the bin as metered by an animal through actuation means, the improvement comprising: a first shelf adapted to receive a supply of feed from the bin, the first shelf having an angularly inclined lower receiving surface terminating in an upwardly spaced second shelf in communication with the angularly inclined surface and adapted to receive feed advanced from the angularly inclined surface thereon, the second shelf being in communication with the trough at a point removed from the front of the trough; and gate means for advancing a supply of feed from the first shelf to the second shelf whereby the feed, as it is advanced from the first shelf to the second shelf, is effective to advance feed from the second shelf to the trough.
