A portable air cooling system for cooling, filtering, and adjustably directing air to a user or object. The portable air cooling system has a base, a fan unit pivotable connected to the base, and a cooling unit removably engaged in the fan unit. The base unit includes a removable condensation collecting tray, a ratchet opening, and a roller adapted to cooperate with the ratchet opening. The fan unit includes a latch, an internal motorized fan and fan shroud, and an angle adjustment member. The roller contacts the angle adjustment member to pivot the fan unit about pivot pins extending in from the base. The cooling unit is pre-cooled or pre-heated and includes a plurality of cooling fins and a latch. The cooling unit is inserted into the fan unit until the latches are engaged. A user would activate the fan motor which would draw air into the fan unit and through the cooling unit and over the cooling fins.
