A B S T R A C T A process for obtaining the development of garments for dressing dolls, or other developments for coating toys or miniatures comprises the steps of: a) spreading, in a substantially flat-bottom mold delimited by raised edges, a uniform and thin layer of coloured or pigmented liquid able to form flexible films; b) allowing the liquid to dry until the film is formed; c) drawing the so obtained film development out of the mold; d) applying said development to the doll or other object to be coated by causing corresponding edges to adhere to each other to make the coating stable. The apparatus for carrying out said process comprises substantially flat-bottom molds with raised edges which define the development outlines and may also define slots therein. - 1 -
