ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The handle has a shank in which a recess is formed. A spindle is connected to the shank and a sleeve is slidable along the spindle. A recess is formed in the sleeve and that recess together with the recess in the shank defines a cavity for receipt of -the mounting bracket of a fishing reel. A locking ring is turned on a threaded portion of the spindle. When the ring is rotated in one direction it advances into contact with the sleeve which in turn advances toward the shank with resulting decrease in the length of the cavity whereby the mounting bracket is locked in the cavity. When the ring is rotated in the opposite direction the mounting bracket may be removed from the cavity.
