A process for recovering SF6 from a gas is provided. The process includes the step of contacting a gas stream comprising SF6 and at least one of N2, O2, CO2, and H2O with a membrane in at least one membrane separation unit at conditions effective to obtain a retentate stream rich in SF6 and a permeate stream rich in at least one of N2, O2, CO2, ancL H2O. A process for forming solidified Mg metal is also provided. The process includes recovering and/or recycling of SF6 and/or CO2.

Procédé pour récupérer SF6 à partir d'un gaz. Le procédé comprend une étape de mise en contact d'un flux gazeux renfermant du SF6 et au moins l'un de N2, O2, CO2 ou H2O, avec une membrane dans au moins une unité de séparation à membrane, dans des conditions permettant d'obtenir un flux de concentrat riche en SF6 et un flux de perméat riche en au moins l'un de N2, O2, CO2 ou H2O. L'invention présente également un procédé pour l'obtention de Mg métallique solidifié. Le procédé comprend la récupération et (ou) le recyclage de SF6 et (ou) de CO2.
