METHOD FOR THERMALLY TREATING BIOLOGICAL OBJECTS AND A HEAT TRANSFER ELEMENT FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD Abstract A method for thermally treating biological objects includes convection heat transfer between biological objects and air and contact heat transfer by partially inserting into each such object at least one independent heat transfer element in the form of a thermal siphon. Prior to cooling and freezing its projecting end is orientated upwards, whereas before heating and defrosting this object is turned over to orientate the projecting end of the heat transfer element downwards. The heat transfer element is fashioned as a thermal siphon in the form of a sealed tube with a sharp end for inserting into the biological object, the other end thereof having fins. The fin efficiency is 3 to 15 at a ratio between the lengths of the portions with sharpened and finned ends of 1.5 to 4.
