A compound represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein R1 and R2 each represents hydrogen, C1-8 alkyl, etc.; R3 represents either C1-8 alkyl optionally substituted by one to three halogen atoms or phenyl; R4 represents hydrogen, etc.; R5 and R6 each represents hydrogen, C1-8 alkyl, etc.; X represents sulfur, oxygen, etc.; and ring A represents an optionally substituted cyclic group) or a salt thereof. The compound represented by the general formula (I) is extremely lowly toxic and is hence useful as a safe medical product. It has PPAR.delta. agonistic activity and is hence useful as a preventive and/or therapeutic agent for diseases caused by sugar/lipid abnormal metabolism, hypertension, circulatory diseases, etc.
L'invention concerne un composé représenté par la formule générale (I), dans laquelle R?1¿ et R?2¿ représentent chacun hydrogène, alkyle C¿1-8?, etc., R?3¿ représente soit alkyle C¿1-8? éventuellement substitué par un à trois atomes d'halogène soit phényle, R?4¿ représente hydrogène, etc., R?5¿ et R?6¿ représentent chacun hydrogène, alkyle C¿1-8?, etc., X représente soufre, oxygène, etc., et l'anneau A représente un groupe cyclique éventuellement substitué, ou un sel de ce composé. Le composé représenté par la formule (I) est très faiblement toxique et ainsi utile en tant que produit médicamenteux sans danger. Il présente une activité agonistique PPAR.delta. et est par conséquent utile en tant qu'agent préventif et/ou thérapeutique pour des maladies provoquées par un métabolisme anormal des sucre/lipide, l'hypertension, des maladies du système circulatoire, etc.
