PHF 92-505 20-01-1993 Abstract: Synchronous system permitting to control modems connected thereto and modems suitable for such a system. This synchronous system permits to control modems (Mi,j) connected thereto by means of interfaces (of the type specifically defined by the Standard V24) and comprises a plurality of interface circuits. In this system: - the modems are of the bi-mode type: synchronous mode and asynchronous mode, because of which they are suitable to carry out instructions of the HAYES type, - certain interface circuits are put in a particular state during control, - the modems comprise means for detecting this particular state so that they are set in the asynchronous mode for receiving said instructions of the HAYES type. Application: Data transmission networks operating according to Recommendation X25. Reference: Fig. 1.
