A method is disclosed for determining by a UTRAN a persistence value having a value between 0 and 1 for adjusting a number of access preambles from a plurality of UEs requiring assignment of a common packet channel (CPCH). The method includes the steps of counting a number of the access preambles detected in an access preamble period having a predetermined period; and determining the persistence value based on the number of counted access preambles. The persistence value is determined in a unit of transport format (TF), physical common packet channel (PCPCH), or CPCH set.
L'invention porte sur un procédé visant à déterminer par un réseau terrestre d'accès radio UMTS une valeur de persistance comprise entre 0 et 1 afin d'ajuster un nombre de préambules d'accès à partir d'une pluralité d'équipements utilisateurs demandant une affectation d'un canal commun de paquets. Ce procédé consiste à dénombrer les préambules d'accès détectés dans une période et ayant une période prédéterminée, et déterminer la valeur de persistance en fonction du nombre de préambules d'accès. La valeur de persistance est déterminée dans une unité de format de transport, un canal commun physique de paquets ou un ensemble de canaux communs de paquets.
