Liquid, urethane diol are prepared by reacting i) an organic diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of hexamethylene diisocyanate, methylene-bis(cyclohexyl isocyanate), 1-isocyanato-3- isocyanatomethyl-3,3,5-trimethylcyclo-methane, and mixtures thereof, and ii) one or more organic diols having molecular weights of from about 100 to about 200, and being selected from the group consisting of aliphatic diols and cycloaliphatic diols. The urethane diols are eminently suitable for use in the production of polyurethane and/or polyurea products.
