An improved conveyor chain (10) formed from a plurality of modular links (14) arranged in rows (R1, R2, R3) and each associated with at least two elongated transverse connectors (11a, 11b) is disclosed. In one embodiment, the connectors define a substantially open, planar conveying surface intermediate of the links in each row. Each link (14) in a first row includes apertures (30) for receiving a first (11a) of the connectors extending through a slot (28) in the links of an adjacent row, as well as a receiver (22) having a closed end (23b) and an open end (23a) for receiving one end of a second one (11b) of the connectors. The chain with the connectors associated with each row is thus capable of side-flexing to negotiate curves or bends, as well as longitudinal compression/expansion, while at all times providing full and even article support.
La présente invention se rapporte à une chaîne de transporteur améliorée (10) constituée d'une pluralité de maillons modulaires (14) agencés en lignes (R1, R2, R3) et associés chacun à au moins deux connecteurs transversaux oblongs (11a, 11b). Dans un mode de réalisation, les connecteurs définissent une surface de transport plane sensiblement ouverte en position intermédiaire entre les maillons de chaque rangée. Chaque maillon (14) d'une première rangée comporte des ouvertures (30) permettant de recevoir un premier connecteur (11a) sélectionné parmi les connecteurs s'étendant à travers une fente (28) dans les maillons d'une rangée adjacente, ainsi qu'un organe de réception (22) présentant une extrémité fermée (23b) et une extrémité ouverte (23a) conçu pour recevoir une extrémité d'un second connecteur (11b) sélectionné parmi lesdits connecteurs. La chaîne avec les connecteurs associés à chaque rangée peut ainsi effectuer une flexion latérale pour négocier des courbes ou des virages, ainsi qu'une compression/extension longitudinale, et ce en assurant simultanément à tout instant un support total et régulier pour des articles.
