ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In general, patented paint tray carriers do not securely hold a tray or may damage the tray during use. A relatively simple paint tray carrier includes an elongated, tubular body; a fixed jaw of inverted L-shaped cross section for engaging the top and inner edge of the taller end of a paint tray; a movable jaw pivotable on the bottom end of the body in opposition to the fixed jaw for grasping the end of the paint tray; a handle and lever combination pivotally mounted on the top end of the body; and a linkage extending between the handle so that lifting of the handle causes closing of the movable jaw against the end of the paint tray.
