A process for making a wearable absorbent article is described wherein two longitudinally extending barrier leg cuffs (62) are attached to a chassis and the barrier leg cuffs (62) are joined to the article so that they are directed inwardly toward a longitudinally extending centerline in the first waist region (22) of the article and directed outwardly away from the longitudinally extending centerline in the second waist region (24) of the article. The method describes the cuffs (62) as being first attached in the first waist region (22) and then in the second waist region (24) in one embodiment and, in another embodiment, being attached in the second waist region (24) first and then in the first waist region (22) of the article. A process is also described for making a wearable, absorbent article wherein the barrier leg cuffs (62) are attached to the article outboard of the longitudinally extending centerline in both the first waist (22) and second waist regions (24) of the article and wherein the barrier leg cuffs (62) are joined partially to the article in the crotch region (26).

L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de fabrication d'un article absorbant destiné à être porté et dans lequel les éléments de retenue (62) sont fixés à l'article à l'extérieur de la ligne centrale s'étendant longitudinalement à la fois dans les première (22) et seconde (24) régions de la taille de l'article, et sont assemblés partiellement à l'article dans la zone de l'entrejambe (26).
