Self RF engineering is made possible for a wireless communication system by adding to the self-configuration capability the ability to set autonomously the power levels of the system base stations. The same data is employed as in self configuration. A further improvement for systems using the IS 136 Air Interface Standard consists of the capability to collect the required data through the functionalities of the MAHO/MACA (Mobile Assisted Hand Off/Mobile Assisted Channel Assignment). Improved system-initialization procedures are presented.

On peut automatiser le modelage RF d'un système de communication sans fil en ajoutant au dispositif d'autoconfiguration une fonction permettant de régler automatiquement le niveau de puissance des stations de base du système. Les données utilisées sont celles de l'autoconfiguration. Une autre amélioration peut être apportée aux systèmes utilisant la norme IS 136; elle consiste à saisir les données requises un utilisant les fonctions MAHO/MACA («Mobile Assisted Hand Off/Mobile Assisted Channel Assignment»). Des procédures améliorées pour l'initialisation du système sont également divulguées.
