The present invention relates to a novel polybenzimidazole-benzamide copolymer composed of the repeating units represented by formula 1 which is applicable to the electrolyte membrane of fuel cell and a preparation method of the same. The present invention also relates to an electrolyte membrane produced from the above copolymer of the invention and a preparation method thereof. The present invention further relates to a membrane-electrode unit for fuel cell containing the electrolyte membrane of the invention and a fuel cell system including the unit. The electrolyte membrane prepared by the polybenzimidazole-benzamide copolymer of the invention has improved proton conductivity, compared with the conventional polybenzimidazole polymer membrane, and has thermal and chemical stability in addition to the operating capacity in a wide temperature range.
L'invention concerne un nouveau copolymère de polybenzimidazole-benzamide composé des motifs répétés représentés par la formule 1, lequel est utilisable pour une membrane d'électrolyte d'une pile à combustible, ainsi qu'un procédé de préparation de ce copolymère. L'invention concerne également une membrane d'électrolyte produite à partir du copolymère précité, selon l'invention, ainsi qu'un procédé de préparation de celui-ci. L'invention concerne en outre une unité membrane-électrode pour pile à combustible contenant la membrane d'électrolyte selon l'invention, ainsi qu'un système de pile à combustible comprenant ladite unité. La membrane d'électrolyte préparée à partir du copolymère de polybenzimidazole-benzamide selon l'invention présente, comparativement à la membrane de polymère de polybenzimidazole conventionnelle, une conductivité protonique améliorée, ainsi qu'une bonne stabilité thermique et chimique, en plus d'une capacité de fonctionnement dans un vaste intervalle de température.
