ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A longitudinally divided cable sleeve is composed of a flexible foil envelope having longitudinal closure elements along each longitudinal edge and has structural elements or support members for supporting the envelope as it is wrapped around a cable splice or region. Preferably, the flexible foil is composed of a plurality of layers including a plastic layer, a reinforcing layer and at least one metal foil layer, which all adhere to one another by adhering layers.
