ABSTRACT An instruction execution control system of an informa- tion processing device having a pipeline instruction execution control portion is described. The system sequentially executes an instruction interval between completion of excution of a particular instruction and reading of the next instruction. In the system a program status word is held. The program status word includes indicating information concerning whether or not an instruction interval is to be sequentially executed and control information indicating the execution status of the program. An instruction execution sequencing indicator responsive to the indicating information of the program status word held indicates to the instruction execution control portion whether or not the instruction in the interval are to be sequentially executed.
