A lathe chuck made of a solid material having a threaded hole at one end of the body to attach to the drive shaft (headstock) of a wood lathe and a tapered square recess at the opposite end of the body to receive, centre, and secure square stock of varying size in order to perform turning operations on the stock. The stock is held secure by pressure applied on the opposite end of the stock by the tailstock fitting of the lathe .
