27 Disclosed herein is a thermosetting resinous adhesive composition comprising: (a) a thermosetting resin composition comprising phenol, melamine, formaldehyde, and urea, said composition comprising at least 25 weight percent of melamine and at least 10 weight percent of phenol; (b) a curing catalyst; (c) water added in an amount sufficient to impart a suitable viscosity. Also disclosed is a stable copolymer resin precursor composition for use as a precursor to the the thermosetting adhesive. Further disclosed are methods of preparing the adhesive composition and precursor. further disclosed are engineered wood products made in accordance with the present invention.
Divulgation relative à une composition résineuse adhésive thermodurcissable, renfermant : a) une composition de résine thermodurcissable à base de phénol, de mélamine, de formaldéhyde et d'urée; ladite composition renferme au moins 25 % en poids de mélamine et au moins 10 % en poids de phénol; b) un catalyseur de réticulation; c) de l'eau ajoutée en quantité suffisante pour communiquer une viscosité appropriée. La divulgation concerne également une composition précurseur de résine copolymérique stable, utile comme précurseur de l'adhésif thermodurcissable. Enfin, on divulgue des méthodes pour préparer la composition adhésive et le précurseur, ainsi que des produits du bois conçus conformément à la présente invention.
