An exercising apparatus 20 comprises a supporting frame 22, an arm rest assembly 24 and a seat assembly 26 on the frame 22. Each of the arm rest assembly 24 and the seat assembly 26 is capable of pivoting movement relative to the frame 22 about a substantially vertical axis. The pivoting movement of the arm rest assembly 24 is independent of the pivoting movement of the seat assembly 26. In a particular embodiment, the exercising apparatus 20 also comprises a crunching assembly 28 which is capable of pivoting movement relative to the frame 22 about a substantially horizontal axis. In a particular embodiment, resistance means in the form of weights 110, 112 is provided for effecting the pivoting movement of the arm rest assembly 24, seat assembly 26 and crunching assembly 28 against the lifting of the weights.
