There is provided a cellulosic-based fiber granule with added non self- associating particulates or fibers. The resulting granule is free-flowing with a densified outer surface and is capable of removing substantially all oil or other fluids from a flat surface such as a floor. The granule is also capable of being incinerated by being formed substantially of organic materials. Cellulosic plant fibers form at least 10 percent up to 99 percent of the granule. There is also provided a method for forming the incineratable absorbent, free-flowing granules.

La présente invention concerne un granulé fibreux à base de cellulose auquel ont été ajoutées des particules ou des fibres qui ne s'associent pas de manière autonome. Le granulé ainsi obtenu s'écoule librement, présente une surface extérieure densifiée et est capable d'éliminer pratiquement toute l'huile ou tout autre fluide d'une surface plane telle qu'un sol. Ledit granulé peut également être incinéré, étant donné qu'il est composé essentiellement de matières organiques. Des fibres végétales cellulosiques constituent de 10 pour cent au moins à 99 pour cent du granulé. La présente invention se rapporte également à un procédé permettant de former lesdits granulés absorbants à écoulement libre pouvant être incinérés.
