The method of the present inven- tion generally validates a communication link in a communication system. In par- ticular, the method validates a communi- cation link between a cordless base sta- tion and authorization and call routing equipment by authenticating the cordless base station to communicate with said au- thorization equipment (603) and authen- ticating the authorization equipment to communicate with the cordless base sta- tion (604). Preferably, the step of au- thenticating the cordless base station is based upon a first random number gener- ated within the authorization equipment (502) and the step of authenticating the authorization equipment is based upon a second random number generated within the cordless base station (504). A com- mmunication link is allowed between the cordless base station and the authoriza- tion equipment when both the cordless base station and the authorization equip- ment have been a authenticated (614).

Notamment, ce procédé valide une liaison d'intercommunication entre une station de base sans fil et un équipement d'autorisation et d'acheminement d'appels en authentifiant la station de base sans fil afin de communiquer avec cet équipement d'autorisation (603), et en authentifiant l'équipement d'autorisation afin de communiquer avec la station de base sans fil (604). De préférence, l'étape d'authentification de la station de base sans fil s'effectue sur la base d'un premier numéro aléatoire généré dans l'équipement d'autorisation (502), et l'étape d'authentification de l'équipement d'autorisation s'effectue sur la base d'un second numéro aléatoire généré dans la station de base sans fil (504).
