The object of the invention is to provide a new method and a new installation for fighting fire, in particular for spaces involving fire risk under a floor structure or in cabinets for electrical apparatuses. According to the invention, a liquid fog is sprayed in the major part of the space, which major part can be considered as a normal room, while a non- combustible gas, preferably heavier than air, is sprayed into narrow partial spaces for cables etc.

Ce nouveau procédé et l'installation correspondante sont destinés à l'extinction des feux, plus particulièrement aux emplacements présentant des risques d'incendie (structures de plancher, armoires électriques). L'installation procède par diffusion d'un liquide pulvérisé dans la majeure partie du volume concerné, cette majeure partie pouvant être considérée comme une pièce normale. La diffusion du liquide pulvérisé est complétée par la diffusion, dans les parties du volume plus étroites telles que les passages de câbles, d'un gaz non combustible, de préférence plus lourd que l'air.
