A lock for a door or the like has a casing (1) and a deadbolt assembly which comprises a bolt (5) and a drive mechanism in the form of a cam (9) of a cylinder lock (10) which is adapted to be operated by a key. The drive mechanism is arranged to drive a coupler (11) which is guided for sliding movement in the casing (1) between a withdrawn position in which the bolt (5) is located substantially wholly within the casing (1) and an extended or thrown position in which a portion of the bolt (5) projects from the casing (1). A lever in the form of a link (16) is arranged between the coupler (11) and the bolt (5), the link (16) being pivotally mounted in the casing (1) and provided with first engagement means in the form of a pin (19) which is engageable in a slot (15) in the coupler (11) and second engagement means in the form of a slot (18) which is arranged to engage with a pin (20) on the bolt (5). The arrangement is such that, when the bolt (5) is in the withdrawn position and the coupler (11) is engaged by the cam (9) to move the bolt (5) to the thrown position, the link (16) is engaged by the coupler (11) and is effective to increase the movement of the bolt (5) relative to the movement of the coupler (11) thereby to increase the throw of the bolt.
Une serrure pour une porte ou analogue comporte un boîtier (1) et un ensemble pêne dormant qui comprend un pêne (5) et un mécanisme d'entraînement sous forme d'une came (9) d'un cylindre (10) adapté pour être actionné par une clé. Le mécanisme d'entraînement est conçu pour entraîner un coupleur (11) guidé pour effectuer un mouvement de coulissement dans le boîtier (1) entre une position rétractée dans laquelle le pêne (5) est situé pratiquement en totalité dans le boîtier (1) et une position étendue ou étirée dans laquelle une partie du pêne (5) fait saillie à partir du boîtier (1). Un levier sous forme d'élément de liaison (16) est situé entre le coupleur (11) et le pêne (5), l'élément de liaison (16) étant monté pivotant dans le boîtier (1) et pourvu d'un premier élément d'emboîtement sous forme d'une broche (19) qui peut être introduite dans une fente (15) ménagée dans le coupleur (11) et d'un second élément d'emboîtement sous forme d'une fente (18) conçue pour recevoir une broche (20) située sur le pêne (5). La configuration de ladite serrure est telle que lorsque le pêne (5) se trouve en position rétractée et que la came (9) est introduite dans le coupleur (11) pour déplacer le pêne (5) dans la position étendue, le coupleur (11) s'emboîte dans l'élément de liaison (16) et ledit élément de liaison augmente le mouvement du pêne (5) par rapport au mouvement du coupleur (11), ce qui augmente la course du pêne.
