The invention provides a process for the preparation of a mesoporous, crystalline, acidic molecular sieve comprising the successive steps of a) preparing an aqueous mixture comprising a silicon source and an organic template at a temperature in the range of at most 90 °C; (b) adjusting the pH of the solution to such value in the range of from 5.0 to 12.5 that a precipitate is formed; (c) recovering the precipitate; and (d) calcination of the precipitate to obtain the mesoporous, crystalline, acidic molecular sieve, wherein an aluminium source is added in one or more of steps (a) and (b) and/or between steps (c) and (d) in such amount that after addition of all aluminium source the Si/Al atomic ratio is at least 3; molecular sieves obtained by the process; and their use as hydroprocessing catalysts or catalyst carriers.

Cette invention fournit un procédé pour la préparation d'un tamis moléculaire mésoporeux, cristallin et acide, comprenant les étapes successives suivantes : a) la préparation d'un mélange aqueux contenant une source de silicium et une matrice organique, à une température inférieure à 90 .degré.C; b) l'ajustement du pH de la solution à une valeur comprise entre 5,0 et 12,5, de manière à former un précipité; c) la récupération du précipité; et d) la calcination du précipité afin d'obtenir le tamis moléculaire mésoporeux, cristallin et acide. Au cours de ce procédé, on ajoute une source d'aluminium au cours d'une ou plusieurs des étapes a) et b), et/ou entre les étapes c) et d), en quantités telles qu'après l'addition de tout l'aluminium le rapport atomique Si/Al soit au moins égal à 3. On divulgue aussi des tamis moléculaires obtenus par ce procédé et leur utilisation comme catalyseurs d'hydrocraquage ou comme supports de catalyseur.
