Methods of cleavage of a polymer of deoxyribonucleic acid using photosensitive texaphyrins are disclosed. A preferred method of use is the site-specific cleavage of a polymer of deoxyribonucleic acid, and a preferred texaphyrin is a derivatized texaphyrin having binding specificity, in particular, a texaphyrin covalently coupled to a site-directing molecule, preferably an oligonucleotide.

On décrit des procédés, qui permettent de couper un polymère d'acide désoxyribonucléique à l'aide de texaphyrines photosensibles. Un procédé préféré concernant leur utilisation consiste à couper en un site précis un polymère d'ADN, et une texaphyrine préférée est obtenue par dérivation et présente une spécificité de liaison. Il s'agit notamment d'une texaphyrine couplée de façon convalente à une molécule d'orientation vers un site, un oligonucléotide de préférence.
