In a method of processing postal packages (P), client identification codes (CAI) are allocated to the packages by a sender of the packages and are used by the postal operator (OP) when the packages pass through a postal sorting system (T). These client identification codes are recorded in memory (11) in the sorting system in correspondence with first digital imprints (V-Id) or image signatures prior to the first time the packages pass through the postal sorting system. While a current package is passing along its first sorting pass, an image of the package comprising a postal address block is formed and a current imprint as well as information regarding location in the sorting process is derived from the image of the package. A search is conducted for a match between this current imprint and a first imprint recorded in memory so as to recover a current client identification code with which this location information is associated.
Dans un procédé de traitement d'envois postaux (P), des codes d identification client (CAI) sont attribués aux envois par un expéditeur des envois et sont utilisés par 1 opérateur postal (OP) lors du passage des envois dans un système de tri postal (T). Ces codes d identification client sont enregistrés en mémoire (11) dans le système de tri en correspondance avec des premières empreintes numériques (V-Id) ou signatures d image préalablement au premier passage des envois dans le système de tri postal. Lors du passage d un envoi courant en première passe de tri, on forme une image de 1 envoi comportant un bloc d adresse postale et on dérive de 1 image de 1 envoi une empreinte courante ainsi que des informations de localisation dans le processus de tri. On recherche une concordance entre cette empreinte courante et une première empreinte enregistrée en mémoire pour récupérer un code d identification client courant auquel on associe ces informations de localisation.
