A software method and tool for use in developing, selling, operating and managing timeshare properties. In the marketing and sales stage of managing timeshare properties, timeshare products are created by defining usage type (150) for each product and defining usage rights (155) associated with the usage type (150). The usage type can have a space dimension component, and/or a points based component. A hotel inventory (115) is developed based on resort, room type, and room information.
