The present invention relates to cardiomyocyte progenitor cells (CMPCs), to methods for their isolation and to the use of this CMPCs for the provision of cardiomyocytes, by way of differentiating the obtained CMPCs with a demethylating agent. The present invention also relates to pharmaceuticals compositions comprising cardiomyocytes for use in a cardiomyocyte replacement therapy and/or for the treatment in myocardial infarctation or for ameliorating the effects of myocardial infarctation.

Cette invention concerne des cellules progénitrices de cardiomyocytes (CMPC), des procédés permettant de les isoler ainsi que l'utilisation de ces CMPC pour l'obtention de cardiomyocytes, par différentiation des CMPC obtenues au moyen d'un agent de déméthylation. Cette invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant des cardiomyocytes utilisables lors d'une thérapie de remplacement des cardiomyocytes et/ou pour le traitement d'un infarctus du myocarde ou encore pour améliorer les effets d'un infarctus du myocarde.
