A window screen adapted to be positioned over a window opening of a conventional vehicle door. The window screen is adapted to be fixed on the internal surfaces of the structural components of the vehicle door which surround the window opening. The window screen is thus adapted to be positioned in an overriding relationship relatively to the conventional window glass. Several strips of gripping material are adhesively fixed to the interior surface of the vehicle door. The gripping strips have integrally extending miniature hook fibers. The window screen has a flexible sheet made of meshed fibers which define a set of miniature openings extending therethrough. The miniature hook fibers are configured and sized in order to be releasably and grippingly insertable into the miniature openings extending through the meshed sheet. The peripheral edges of the meshed sheet are thus adapted to be gripped by the miniature hooks of the gripping strips. A set of covering strips may be positioned over the peripheral edges of the meshed sheet in order to provide a visual frame for the window screen. The covering strips have an esthetically pleasing front surface and a set of miniature loop fibers extending integrally from their back surfaces. The peripheral edges of the meshed sheet are thus adapted to be sandwiched between the gripping strips and the covering strips.
