Pyrolyzing gasification system and method of use including primary combustion of non-uniform solid fuels such as biomass and solid wastes within a refractory lined gasifier, secondary combustion of primary combustion gas within a staged, cyclonic, refractory lined oxidizer, and heat energy recovery from the oxidized flue gas within an indirect air-to-air all~ceramic heat exchanger or extemal combustion engine. Primary combustiori occurs at low substoichoimetric air percentages of 10-30 percent and at temperatures below 1000 degrees F. Secondary combustion is staged and controlled for low NOx formation and prevention of formation of CO, hydrocarbons, and VOCs. The gasifier includes a furnace bed segmented into individual cells, each cell is independently monitored using a ramp temperature probe, and provided with controlled air injection. Gasifier air injection includes tuyere arrays, lances, or both. The oxidizer includes three serially aligned stages separated by air injecting baffles, and ability to adjust the exit air temperature.
L'invention concerne un système de gazéification à pyrolyse et son procédé d'utilisation. Ce système permet de réaliser une combustion primaire de combustibles solides non uniformes, tels qu'une biomasse et des déchets solides, dans un gazéifieur à revêtement réfractaire, une combustion secondaire d'un gaz de combustion dans un appareil d'oxydation cyclonique étagé à revêtement réfractaire, et une récupération d'énergie thermique à partir du gaz de combustion oxydé dans un échangeur de chaleur tout céramique air-air indirect ou un moteur à combustion externe. La combustion primaire se produit à des pourcentages d'air sous-stoechiométriques de 10 à 30 % et à des températures inférieures à 1000 degrés F. La combustion secondaire est étagée et régulée en vue d'une faible formation de NOx et d'une prévention de la formation de CO, d'hydrocarbures et de COV. Le gazéifieur comprend un lit de four segmenté en cellules individuelles, chaque cellule étant indépendamment surveillée au moyen d'une sonde de température de rampe et dotée d'une injection d'air régulée. Le système d'injection d'air du gazéifieur comprend des réseaux de tuyères ou des lances, voire les deux. Le dispositif d'oxydation comprend trois étages alignés en série séparés par des chicanes d'injection d'air, et permet de régler la température de l'air de sortie.
