There is disclosed a tape slitter apparatus having a means for mounting a roll of tape to be slit into desired individual lengths. The means for feeding the tape to a slitting component, slitting means having a pair of cooperating members, one of the members having a slitting knife adapted to detachably sever a desired length of tape from the roll, and the other member having an anvil surface against which the knife is adapted to press the tape against for detachably severing the length, and a means for advancing a detachable length of tape to and through the slitting means.
